Illume

Monday, February 1st - Sunday, February 28th, 2027

Opening Reception: Friday, February 5th, 5pm to 8pm

Light has long been a symbol of revelation—not something imposed from the outside, but something uncovered from within. “Illume” considers the moments in life that quietly alter our understanding of ourselves, revealing a depth that often goes unnoticed until we pause long enough to see it.

The women in these paintings inhabit spaces of contemplation rather than certainty. They are not defined by narrative or circumstance, but by presence. Their stillness invites us to look beyond appearance and toward the inner life each figure suggests—a place where memory, intuition, and identity converge.

My work has always centered on the female figure, yet this body of work asks different questions. Rather than seeking to describe who these women are, I am interested in what they hold: the invisible accumulation of experience, the wisdom that cannot be measured, and the quiet dignity that comes from living an examined life.

Illume is an invitation to slow down. To notice what is often overlooked. To recognize that what gives us depth is rarely visible at first glance, but reveals itself over time through reflection, presence, and grace.

If there is a common thread running through these paintings, it is the belief that our truest selves are not constructed—they are gradually brought into the light.
